Crystal Frolics
Crystal Frolics has a long-standing tradition of bringing the community together for a family-focused celebration while supporting local service organizations. Drawing thousands of residents and visitors each year, Crystal Frolics, in Welcome Park, features a wide variety of activities, including one of the area’s largest softball tournaments, live entertainment, delicious food, beverage, treat vendors, and engaging activities for all ages.
Crystal Frolics is a collaborative effort between the volunteer-led Crystal Frolics Committee, Inc., the City of Crystal, and numerous local partner organizations. Together, they create a signature event that celebrates the spirit, pride, and connections that make the City of Crystal and the surrounding community such a special place to live and gather.
Origins:
The event, as a city-wide festival for residents, started in the 1950's.
Name Change:
It was first known as the "Vulcan's Frolics" before becoming the Crystal Frolics.
Changing Management:
The organization of the festival was hosted by different entities over time, including the fire department and the City of Crystal itself.
Non-Profit Status:
The event is now organized by Crystal Frolics Committee Inc., a 501c4 non-profit organization comprised of volunteers.
