Crystal Frolics Buttons

Welcome to the 2011 Crystal Frolics. The Crystal Frolics is held by the Crystal Frolics Committee, a non-profit organization, which is comprised of members of Crystal civic groups, service organizations and interested residents and local businesses. These organizations include the West Metro Fire Relief Association & Auxiliary, the local VFW Post 494, Crystal Lion’s Club, Boy Scout Troop 533, Cooper Wrestling and the City of Crystal.

The Frolics includes many fun and exciting activities such as the week-end long softball tournaments, Friday night fireworks and the Baggo Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Crystal Lions will have a food booth at the Frolics this year. Check out their new dinner offering. West Metro Auxiliary is again hosting a waffle breakfast on Saturday morning at the North fire station. Returning on Thursday night is the Bill Koncar Polka Band. The Urban Myth Band will perform on Friday night. Saturday night, enjoy dancing and singing along with Boogie Wonderland. Sunday at noon we will be holding a walking Patriotic Pathway Parade on the Becker Park trail system. We will honor local youth organizations, the armed services and local public safety officers. Come and lend your support. We will also be hosting our first Classic Car Show on Sunday. After the parade and the car show, enjoy the stylings of Dannyboy Dillinger & The Handsome Skulls at the Becker Park stage.

This year’s button was designed by Mary Cotter, who is home schooled. She won a Nintendo Wii Game System. The 2nd place design winner is Samantha Roen (Neill School) and the 3rd place winner is Michael Gunderman (King of Grace School). They both won gift cards. All three will receive 10 buttons of their own design.

Again, this year, we are asking for your support by purchasing Crystal Frolics buttons for $2.00 each. The proceeds from the buttons pay for additional security to ensure your safety and well-being, while enjoying your Frolics activities. In conjunction with the City of Crystal, we are doing all we can to continue to keep the Frolics a safe and enjoyable family friendly community event. You can purchase buttons at the Crystal Community Center, Associated Bank, Almsted’s Fresh Market, Buffalo Wild Wings, TCF Bank and Thriftway.

Buttons will need to be worn in order to gain entrance to the carnival after 6:00 pm. If you are 12 years of age or older, you will need a 2011 Frolics button to receive a wristband, which allows entry into the carnival. Kids 11 and under will be admitted with a parent or guardian with a button. 1 button per family is all that is needed.

A Frolics button is also needed to participate in the Search for the Crystal Ball to claim the $500.00 prize, provided by Associated Bank. The first clue will be in the July 28 issue of the Sun Post.

Thank you for your continuing support of the Crystal Frolics!
