Crystal Frolics Buttons

Welcome to the 2010 Crystal Frolics.  The Crystal Frolics is held by the Crystal Frolics Committee, a non-profit organization, which is comprised of members of Crystal civic groups, service organizations and interested residents. These organizations include the West Metro Fire Relief Association & Auxiliary, the local VFW Post 494, Crystal Lion’s Club, Boy Scout Troop 533, Cooper Wrestling and the City of Crystal.
The Frolics includes many fun and exciting activities such as the week-end long 50th Annual Softball Tournament, Friday night fireworks and the Baggo Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Cooper Wrestling is joining the Frolics this year with a food booth. Check out their breakfast pizza and other tasty choices. West Metro Auxiliary is again hosting a waffle breakfast on Saturday morning at the North fire station. Returning are bands Bill Koncar Polka on Thursday night and Free Fallin’ on Friday night. Saturday night, enjoy listening to and rocking with Alex Ligertwood, former lead singer of Santana with Headliner.(“Black Magic Woman” and “Oye Como Va”). After the Grand Day Parade, on Sunday afternoon, we will have a concert by Echoes of Elvis, an Elvis tribute band, at the Becker Park stage.

This year’s button was designed by Elizabeth Breitbach, a student at Neill School.  She won a Nintendo Wii Game System, donated by Volunteers of America/Crystal Care Center.  The 2nd place design winner is Jacalyn Gisvold (Neill School) and the 3rd place winner is Elizabeth Cronin (St. Raphael’s School).  They both won gift cards donated by the Crystal Police Association. All three will receive 10 buttons of their own design.

Again, this year, we are asking for your support by purchasing Crystal Frolics buttons.  The proceeds from the buttons pay for additional security to ensure your safety and well-being, while enjoying your Frolics activities.  In conjunction with the City of Crystal, we are doing all we can to continue to keep the Frolics a safe and enjoyable family friendly community event.

Buttons will need to be worn in order to gain entrance to the carnival after 6:00 pm.  If you are 12 years of age or older, you will need a 2010 Frolics button to receive a wristband, which allows entry into the carnival.  Kids 11 and under will be admitted with a parent or guardian with a button.  1 button per family is all that is needed.

A Frolics button is also needed to participate in the Search for the Crystal Ball to claim the $500.00 prize, provided by Associated Bank. The first clue will be in the July 22nd issue of the Sun Post.
Thank you for your continuing support of the Crystal Frolics!
