Crystal Frolics Buttons
Welcome to the 2009 Crystal Frolics. The Crystal Frolics is held by the Crystal Frolics Committee, a non-profit organization, which is comprised of members of Crystal civic groups, service organizations and interested residents. These organizations include the West Metro Fire Relief Association & Auxiliary, the local VFW Post 494, Crystal Lion’s Club, Boy Scout Troop 533 and the City of Crystal. In the past, we added many new activities such as the Baggo Tournament on Saturday afternoon, a Polka Band on Thursday evening, Disc Golf at Bassett Creek Park on Sunday and the Mayor’s Dunk Tank. This year, West Metro Auxiliary is hosting a waffle breakfast on Saturday morning at the North fire station and there will be a Haidong Gumdo (Korean sword art) demonstration Sunday, after the parade, near the Becker Park stage.
This year’s button was designed by CJ Cain, a student at Neill School. He won a Wii Game System, donated by Fantasia Salon. The 2nd place design winner is Kassie Carlstrom (Forest School) and 3rd place winner is Amelia Torfin
(King of Grace Lutheran School). They both won gift cards donated by the Crystal Police Association and 10 buttons of
their own design. Again, this year, we are asking for your support by purchasing Crystal Frolics buttons. The proceeds
from the buttons pay for additional security to ensure your safety and well-being, while enjoying your Frolics activities.
In conjunction with the City of Crystal, we are doing all we can to continue to keep the Frolics a safe and enjoyable family friendly community event.
Buttons will need to be worn in order to gain entrance to the carnival after 6:00 pm. If you are 12 years of age or older
you will need a 2009 Frolics button to receive a wristband, which allows entry into the carnival. Kids 11 and under will
be admitted with a parent or guardian with a button. 1 button per family is all that is needed.
A Frolics button is also needed to participate in the Search for the Crystal Ball to claim the $500.00 savings bond,
provided by Associated Bank. The first clue will be in the July 23rd issue of the Sun Post.
Thank you for your continuing support of the Crystal Frolics!
